We began our week with School Picture Day, which for the 3's was an opportunity to learn more new photography terms-"Photographer" and "flash" and "tripod" included! We have a small tripod set up in the room now which has a camera attached that still makes whirring sounds and flashes occasionally with it's old batteries.
Honestly, the children have reminded me that the cameras are "broken" and don't work, but I've been telling them that if they were working cameras they would be fragile and we couldn't let children play with them!

We continued our study of cameras and photography throughout the week-we colored on photographic paper with sharpies, experiencing the texture of shiny paper, We tried some solar prints with sunshine, and continue our exploration of color and sunshine and rainbows in the classroom.

A sunshiny day brings many opportunities for reflection and creating images with light!
Our classroom is coalescing into a busy, building, active community. We are becoming familiar with the routines and rules each day. I'm taking the opportunity here to share images from our busy space!
