We have been reveling in the colors of fall as our color mixing, color exploring days are passing by. We took a walk to gather leaves and then made "windows" with heat, waxed paper, our leaves, and crayons. The color melted and mixed as we colored on the warming tray.
This week brought more opportunities for color mixing! We tried "twist" painting, dotting paint onto a paper plate and twisting it on our paper. The children saw many colors emerge as they twisted the paint.

We took a long walk in the woods on the most glorious day!
Our interest in cameras continues, and we've begun a project. To begin with, we are exploring all sorts of cameras, looking at their similarities, talking about what we know about cameras. We've created a movie, of sorts, of the fall weather outside. The children each had a turn pointing the camera at part of the landscape and filming.
We hope to project our movie onto the wall soon!
And, as we wished and hoped, the children have already begun to build structures on the block rug. Remember in the beginning there was a lot of moving of the blocks and piling of the blocks. Recently the blocks are being formed into bridges, beds, roads, and houses, and becoming props for dramatic play. There is positive interaction amongst the children as their structures take shape.
The rainy day gave us a chance to move in the gym!
Until Next Time,
Michele
