We have continued our interest in pumpkins, as they are a presence in our classroom! This week we pounded tees into the pumpkin, and it was very satisfying to get that tee pounded in right to the tip!

At the end of the week, we decided to cut open the pumpkin to see what was inside. We asked questions, and speculated; "what color might the pumpkin be inside? what will be inside? what color will the seeds be?"
And then our investigation began......

We heard words like "greasy" and "gooey" as the children explored what was inside the pumpkin! We decided to fill the pumpkin with bird seed and set it outside for birds to enjoy.
Our CAMERA PROJECT continues at an interesting pace. We have used an ipad outside to film the fall, and this week the children tried their photographic skills by holding the digital camera and pointing it at the subject that they wanted to photograph. We then showed them the digital images that were produced, and the children chose the photo that they wanted printed, and they all wanted black and white as a choice. We will print the images and then each photographer will have the chance to describe their work for publication.
We are excited to see the images that we have created!
Monday was a fabulous day for creating colors on the rug, with the bright sun streaming through the windows. The children have become expert at exploring rainbows, light, and explaining what is happening for each rainbow.
We were outside in the cooler weather this week. Fall is upon us!
