We have continued to explore winter this week! We tried making our own community tracks, and tried painting on a surface very much like ice (glass). We visited Leianna's classroom and she talked to us about how animals adapt to the winter. We are very interested in tracks!
Getting your feet painted was very tickly! And then walking was slippery but fun. We noticed that everyone has foot prints that are similar-we couldn't tell whose was whose.
Leiana talked to us about animals in winter. We learned that animals have ways to stay warm outside; they have a long tail to wrap around and keep warm, a warm coat of fur or feathers, and big feet or claws to hold onto ice and snow.
We all especially liked trying on pieces and touching things with Leiana.
We headed outside a few times - and noticed ice! There wasn't any ice where the water was moving, but plenty of strong ice (we threw rocks to test it) on the pond. Hmmmmm.

Leiana gave us some forms to make tracks with crayon rubbings too! We are invited to look for tracks outside and let Leiana know what we see.
