We are all about building in the PreK3 classroom! The children are creating structures everywhere. A favorite book this week has been The Little Red Fort by Brenda Maier (Scholastic). We have a lot of questions about building!
We are working on our Guide to Robert C Parker School, which is a collaborative project with the Middle School Service Club. They have taken the pictures of all of the space in school, and we are visiting each space and listing everything that we see that makes each space unique. We are learning to look at the numbers on the doors to figure out where we are, and following our maps.
We created structures with tape, craft sticks, and cardboard. Each child had their own "plan" and we facilitated the creating. The children were very driven to talk about their work!
We wrote a book about "HOME" and have painted house shapes with vibrant colors for an evolving project.
